With the new years vacation, I only had two days of classes this week. I love my job and grading vocabulary test have been entertaining!  I even bought some stickers for students with 100 percents!
Our friends at work gave us their old pay-as-you-go phone. It's pink. Roland said I could use it. Yay!

This weekend was really exciting because I got my first pay check this week, so we could get some things we have been wanting.
Started bright and early today. It was really pretty outside! It was about 3 Celsius the sun was shining and we were off to get what I have been waiting for!
And we got it! Yay. Roland was a champ to carry it home.
First we had some potato pizza! Yum, I know you want some.
Then we put together our shelf! We finally are out of our suitcases and into our closet. It feels great!
Then Roland made my chair! I worked so hard for this awesome chair. It's not like my nice one at home, that I have had for over 10 years, but it's close and a lot more comfortable than sitting on the end of the bed.
This week Roland also figured out the TV.
I hung my Christmas present from my friend Shirley on the gas line.
We bought this nice try, its so handy for bringing dinner to the table. Its also super cute!
Lastly I got a little blanket to wrap around me while I am working on the computer. I loved the colors! I'm looking forward to another good week with many more things to share. Our plan is to figure out how to make our router's wireless function work so that we can move the bed in front of the TV where it belongs. We miss our friends and family tons, and hope to talk to you all soon!

We are having a long vacation. Roland and I are still exploring this city. It's a lot bigger than we thought it would be.
This is Andong city hall. To walk to it would take about 2 or 3 hours to walk home would take even longer!  Thursday we took a taxi to meet my boss, so that I could finally get my foreigner card. Now we just wait 2 weeks.
We found lots of fun things this week!
They are not so flat! They are actually super yummy!
Sensual Viking.... yup totally a sensual experience!

Today we took a walk down to the river! They have a walking track and lots of little paths and bridges.
Roland was freezing!
It was really pretty.
This is looking east up the river.
Roland was still really cold.
He probably should have worn his really warm hat his mom sent!
We crossed this little rock bridge, I think in the spring this area is full of water, but we will see in April!
Hey mom! I can see my house from here! Well kinda, we can see our villa from here. Its the complex with the blue and red writing at the top.
We went for Samgyeupsal to warm up.  In the front is kimchi, to the right are mushrooms, and to the left are rice cakes, tofu, sausage and a dumpling. In the middle is the pork belly. It was so good. The wait staff kept a close eye on us. Making sure we didn't burn anything. They were all shy, but they did their best and so did we.  Last week Carol, a friend of Roland's family suggested a Korean food app for my iPod.  It works so well!  Thanks bunches Carol!
As you can see we cleaned our plate! It was super!
Finished with bowl of noodles as I was told I should!  Its a vinegar ice slush with buckwheat noodles, cucumber and radish. It was really light.
It's been a pretty good week, and a very nice day!

Sorry I missed last week, I was getting over a pretty tough cold. I didn't really feel bad but my voice pretty much left for about 6 days.  For New Years Roland and I took a trip to Baskin Robin! We bought a carton of ice cream! 4 different flavors each either had a mixture or were chocolate and coffee.  The young man at the counter was really excited to use his English with us, and we were really excited to have some ice cream.  They gave us a little baggy of dry ice, guess who couldn't wait to get home and play with it.
As you can see dry ice is fun but I made him stop playing with it, cause I thought he would lose an eye or something.
Ah, couple hanger.  Useful and stylish!
Just a quick video tour of where I work. Everyone is getting ready for classes. They are so kind and friendly. Roland and I are so grateful to be here with such wonderful people.  Sometime I am amazed by how we flew by the seat of our pants, with out knowing what to expect, and came to be in the most perfect place for us.
This is the part of Andong that we walked home by last night. Neon everywhere. Cars parked anyway they want to, and other cars trying to drive by.  The smells are coming from every which way and they are all good! Roland is supposed to study, so that we can go out to eat soon. We have loved almost everything we have tried here, and it is so true that Korean food is just amazing!  We really need to know how to be able to walk in and ask for things, we have only found a few restaurants with pictures.
