I know I haven't updated in 3 weeks. Life has been so busy. Work has been non-stop. When I get home I was helping my friend with all the paper work and scheduling of moving to Korea. We celebrated our Anniversary, found a sick cat and moved house. Then I broke my foot. We traveled to pick up my friend from the airport and have been teaching her everything I know for a week. Now we have started learning a little Korean together, busy right? Let me show you.

 This little girl we are calling Annie. She was someone's cat. We met her and her owner in the park. On our way home we heard a cat up a tree, and it was her.

Roland climbed up the tree and handed her down, we guessed that something scared her and she got away from her owner so we made posters thinking she will be home safe and sound tomorrow.

 A few days later I notice her having serious problems using the litter box, and her urine was orange when she tried to pee on our blanket, trying to escape the pain or the litter box. We took her to the vet and he said that she had a kidney stone. We still hadn't heard from her owner.

 We paid for her medicine and gave it to her. We had to make her drink because she wasn't drinking at all. 2 weeks later she was healthy and playful and funny.  A true brightness in our home. Her owner never called, we guessed that the pain that made her try to pee on our blanket was too much for her owner so she was abandoned.

We don't mind because she is very funny, sweet and playful, like a healthy kitten should be.

This was the first time we saw her play in water, now we leave a little bowl of water with floating toys in it.

 While moving we took a shopping trip to get somethings. We found Barbie Romantic Red color hair dye.

We bought some Natural mineral water from the Demilitarized Zone. It was tasty.

Then I broke my foot. Two days before I was going to travel to Incheon to pick up my friend a desk fell on my foot. One of my youngest students was sitting on her desk and I asked her to get down. She told me no. She is experimenting with no lately, to see what she can do. So I walked over and told her it was dangerous and please don't sit on the desk. Well like kids do she swung her legs hard to get the force to jump down, and it was just enough force to knock the table off balance. I was able to get her before she hit the floor, but I was unable to move my foot before the desk hit it.  It immediately swelled up to the size of a softball and I calmly asked her to join her classmates in writing and I opened the door and waved over the nearby teacher to watch them for a moment. I was pretty calm until I looked down then I panicked, called Roland and asked for ice. I taught the whole day saw the doctor in the morning and taught the rest of the week. 

Then Roland and I traveled To get my friend Bethany and on Sunday something bad happened, I don't know when or where but the pain in my foot was severe. I went back to the doctor and after some more x-rays and seeing my swelling and coloring he thought it would be best to put it in a splint. It was incredibly interesting, they put this foamy fabric in water and held it in an angle around my foot and it got warm and hot, and in about 7 mins it was hard and solid! It has helped so much! It just feels better with my foot in it.  I hope it heals up soon, I have so much I would like to do with my friend since she is new to Andong.  Also sitting still has been a pain! So instead of going out and seeing Korea my friend and I have been learning the alphabet.

The first word we read. We put the English writing in the book. It's a book for children to learn Korean, but we matched it with some YouTube videos and really made fast work of it.

We have been able to take her out to dinner a few times. She has been here for a week and I am so proud and so happy for her.  It's really nice to see her smile and hear her voice cheerful again, it's been a long time. 

Even with a broken foot I still managed to make some super french toast.

I even made a caramelized banana cinnamon sauce too. It was a crowd-pleaser for sure.
