This week was Valentine's day! Roland was super sweet, and got me this! That is a Mass Effect valentine <3 How did he know?!
I got him some chocolates and a card!
It was a really sunny week. It was super cold, but the sun was really nice!
This trash can made me giggle.
The Panda Dog is sleeping, drooling and blowing snot bubbles, while the alarm is telling him to "get up"!
This was a vocabulary test I graded this week. Read it carefully. If you click on it, it gets bigger. The one at the bottom made me laugh the most. I love teaching English!
We went to the older side of town yesterday.
The walk had many of these iron tiles in the street.
 I love things like these.
So I will have another update this week, with all the tiled masks in the walk.

We wondered around the really small streets.
These mannequins were creepy
I wanted to try this cafe' because it had the best music!
This pretty and traditional dress just made me think of my friend Bethany, with all its pretty colors!
This good dog, waits for his owner who works in this restaurant. His bowls are full of food, and he never made a sound. He looks pretty happy to me.
We really enjoy exploring even though it was about -7 Celsius.
I love the mix of old and new found all through out the city.
You never know what is around the corner, this time it was musical clowns! Run!
This was a statue out side a pharmacy. I really liked it.
We were almost to our destination. The closer we came, the more food vendors were lined up.
 They offered fried things,
boiled things, the wiggly one is a fish cake.
Here is the reason we ventured over to the other side of the city. Andong Market!
This was the tile  picture as you walked in.
This market had everything, clothes, dishes, stationery, and tons of places to eat. The other reason was all the traditional foods!
These little fish make kimchi and also go into soup stock.
This older lady sold many different types of kimchi.
There were places to buy frozen, dried or cured fish, squid, clams and octopus.

Once you come out on the other side of the market there is a huge chicken!
This market is know for a traditional boiled chicken dish that originated in Andong. As well as being the Andong Market street is also goes by Jjimdalk street. Basically chicken vegetable soup street.
Later that evening we ventured back out into the cold for our post Valentine's day dinner
We ordered beef, to be grilled at our table and it came with these dishes. The green salad with sesame sauce, a bean sprout and green onion kimchi, which Roland loves. Kimchi to grill and a marinated dipping sauce with hot pepers onions soy sauce and wasabi to mix into it.
This cold soup is called dongchimi. it has large pieces of daikon radish, with strips of Chinese cabbage in a sweet and sour rice vinegar base broth. Its served with shaved ice. I like it, and Roland is endlessly confused by it.
It's a pretty great meal really. The beef is always tender and the side dish of egg soup that is cooked solid  on the grill is really tasty.
Roland is pretty happy with it!
After you eat the meat and vegetables, you have to order a starch. Roland love the "lunch box". It's rice with a bunch of vegetables, bacon a fried egg and a sauce.
That's right this dude just slapped a pig.
This is probably my favorite noodle dish ever! The red paste is spicy and the icy broth is sour and sweet. The cucumber cools it all down, its just an amazing dish! It's called Dongchimi guksu, I would eat at this restaurant any time, just to have these noodles!
